For This Reason!

Father,

We thank You that through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we may enter the Most Holy Place, that we may come with confidence before Your throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. You are a very present help in time of trouble God. (Heb. 10:19, Heb. 4:16, Ps. 46:1)

Lord, there are many who are in a deep, troubling, and pressing time of need in their personal and family lives. We are mindful, Father, of Your Word reminding us to be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, to let our requests be made known to God. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love, of power, and of a sound mind. (Phil. 4:6, 2 Tim. 1:7)

We are also mindful Lord, to praise You in our storms, and thank You for the promises of Your word, knowing that our trials bring about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint. We can rejoice because our hearts overflow with the love of God through the Holy Spirit given to us. (Romans 5:3-5)

For this reason, Father, we lift them now to You. (Col. 1:9, 10,11)

We ask Father, that where there is illness, provide to them Your healing touch as only You can. If there is physical pain, grant them mercy and relief, releasing them from their suffering. We recognize Father, that the things of this world are temporal, even our trials and sufferings, and know we will be free of all pain one day, but for now Lord, for now…grant mercy in pain. (2 Cor. 4:18)

Quiet the emotional storms of those in mental anguish, who often suffer in silence. Provide comfort through Your Spirit, and send comfort in the arms of loving family or friends who can encourage them in love and good deeds, making intercession for them on their knees. (Mark 4:31, 2 Cor. 1:4, Ezek. 22:30)

Where there is doubt, Father, release within them a renewed conviction and confidence in Your  power, knowing that nothing is too difficult for You, for You are able to do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think. (Gen. 18:14, Eph. 3:19)

For those who have grown stagnant in their faith walk, Lord, revive and renew sluggish and inactive spirits to a freshness that comes from time spent with the King of kings and Lord of lords. Stir their hearts toward a deeper place of worship and surrender, causing them to fall in love with their Savior. (Ps. 51:12, Romans 12:1-2)

Reveal any sin that prevents us from walking in right relationship with You. Thank you that you forgive us when we confess the sins You reveal.  (1 John 1:9)

Father, during these especially chaotic times, we ask for discernment and wisdom from above to recognize the confusion and evil that lurks behind nearly every corner, seeking those whom he may devour. (James 3:17, 1 Peter 5:8) Give your angels charge concerning Your children, Father, to guard them in all their ways. (Ps. 91:11)

Thank you, Father, for hearing our prayers and for working all things according to Your will and Your ways. In all things, Lord, we desire to bless and honor You for You are worthy of all glory, honor, power and praise.

In Jesus’ precious and holy name, amen.
