Restorers of the Street

While gathered recently in a circle of prayer with fellow believers twenty or more years younger than myself, I felt the Lord give me a vision of how He is using this generation today. I saw a street littered with refuse and debris, as well as a broom sweeping up the streets—nothing wasted or thrown away. I saw the broom as the way in which God is using this generation and the refuse as the litter of not only their own generation, but their parent’s generation as well. .

The following is my understanding of what I felt I received that particular evening:

“I believe God is using this generation to sweep up the broken pieces and scattered ruins left from the rebellion of the previous generation. And through their faithfulness and obedience, He is fashioning from those broken memories of immorality, deceit, and abandonment a people of character, integrity, and strength.

They will not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not prepare its heart, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. (Ps. 78:8)

The God-ordained faith of this generation, walking in Spirit and in Truth, is preparing the ones who not only follow them, but also offer much-needed spiritual healing and restoration to the generation of their parents who still suffer from the scarred memory of the self-inflicted wounds caused by the lies and depravity of the "sexual revolution”.

God is casting within His church a mosaic of backgrounds and cultures, held together by the Blood of Christ and the water of His word. “And Christ is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Col. 1:17
God has anointed this generation of Spirit-filled followers of Christ, together as one, even as the Father and Son are one; that the world may know that God loves them even as He loves His only begotten Son, for such a time as this.”—SE
